Tutorial Tuesday | Watermarking

Welcome to Tutorial Tuesday! Ashley of Ramblings and Photos and I will be bringing you a new challenge every week, to stretch your shooting and editing skills. This week is our official last week of Tutorial Tuesday. Don’t worry I will still be sharing what I learn but they will not be on a certain day. I will miss this every week though. It has definitely pushed me to try new stuff and grow my photography.

This week Ashley is talking about watermarking. This has become a touchy subject in the blogging/instgram world. I do watermark all my photos on my blog but I am going to start doing it on instagram too. I have also started trying to watermark my photos closer to the main subject. That will make it harder for them to crop out. Annoying that we have to deal with this, but it is out kids we are talking about here. Head over to Ashley’s blog to read her tutorial.

Both of these were taken with the Olympus PEN Lite E-PL3. Love it! Gosh he has gorgeous eyes and you can see the blue sky reflecting in them.

I love that I focused on his hand in this photo but you can see his sweet smile. Gorgeous bokeh too!

Ready to join in the fun? Here’s how to do it:

1. Read through today’s tutorial.
2. Choose your favorite shot (or more!) to share with us.
3. Don’t forget to grab the button for your post!
4. Link up between now and next Monday.

Tutorial Tuesday

PS: If you have any photography or editing suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let Ashley or me know! We would love to feature your tutorial.

I LOVE that second shot! Love the natural emotion! And ugh, I'm still too lazy to watermark even though I KNOW how important it is! Thanks for another reminder, I really need to start doing this!

love your pics - especially the sandy fingers! i watermark my pics - but i don't do a great job of making it large and close to the subject. perhaps i should start. thanks for the tip!

It is really sad/creepy to hear stories of our babies photos being stolen and used by someone else. Watermarking is super important for many reasons. Thanks for emphasizing this. On a cuter subject...Carysn's eyes are simply amazing here. They are so crystal clear. Gorgeous. Love Dustyn on the swing. Seems like an ALL BOY boy!

I'm seeing so many posts about this. I just published my own about disabling your images from being copied, however I just found that even when you disable the copying feature people are still able to save the image. It's frustrating really! Crazy people just ruin it for the rest of us don't they?!

Ah yes- so very important! I thought my situation was bad- then I came across someone else that the person had not only stolen her images & was also passing them off as her own child- but re-named him too. It's disgusting. So sad that we have to do it- but obviously a necessity.

I know! Isn't that scary/sad that people have started doing this? BUT, in other news, I, not 5 minutes ago, JUST bought an olympus pen...free two day shipping...I'll have it by FRIDAY!!! Can you tell I'm excited?

Love the swing pictures! I have hemmed and hawed over watermarking my pics...But, I am highly considering starting a photog business and then would of course watermark them! I also may hit you up for advice on the business stuff!

Still on my to-do list: a gallery wall and living wall, but I'm a bit nervous since I'm not exactly good at that. One day, though... I also dream of getting a projector to display scenes on the big white wall.

I'm going to miss my Halloween decorations when they come down - time to start scouring thrift stores for Christmas decor, I suppose! 🎄

What I have left to do still: Get the top for my desk and seal it. Organize my craft stuff and put it on the shelves under my desk. Figure out my gallery wall above my desk. Order my @wallygrowplanters for my living wall. And of course buy more books and plants. 😆

Then need to paint them and start moving my books out there. After I finish with that, I will work on my living plant wall. Not sure when my low bookcases and desk will be built, but it will happen eventually. Almost there. 🙌🏼
