Foodtography {WW #26}

Filed Under: Photography Tagged With: Wordless Wednesday

Ashley & Branson were at it again with Tutorial Tuesday. This week was Foodtography. I have always admired foodtography, but I have never been good at it. I took some of the tutorials & tips they shared to take these photos today. They came out okay but I still am not happy with them. Do you have any suggestions?  Which one is your favorite?

Oh and if you want to see some awesome foodtography you should check out Natalies blog. She shares recipes and awesome photos.

    Hello! I realize this is sort of off-topic however I had to ask. Does managing a well-established blog such as yours require a large amount of work? I am brand new to running a blog but I do write in my diary on a daily basis. I'd like to start a blog so I will be able to share my personal experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any kind of suggestions or tips for new aspiring blog owners. Appreciate it!

    I love the orange. If you squeezed it a little and had some juice dribbles, it would be perfection! Or maybe it is because I love the color orange.
  29. Susan says

    February 8, 2012 at 11:26 am

    Fun! I like the perspective of the first apple shot as well as the last jam on toast shot. (The knife draws your eye into the center of the shot and up, and then the jar brings your eye back around to the knife again, so it keeps your eyes looking at the shot.)
  30. Run DMT says

    February 8, 2012 at 11:09 am

    I think you did great! I'm still learning the whole foodtography thing. I did learn a nifty trick where you make a light board using foil and a cereal box to help with lighting. I think I pinned it in Pinterest. Yep, I did pin it. http://pinterest.com/pin/116178865356887419/

    My problem with food photos is the creepy lighting in my house. I basically have to cook in the morning, and put the plate on the floor by my back door to get a halfway decent shot. I never cook in the morning. I think yours came out nice. I like the orange one the most!

    I like that first one of the apple best. I think the light was a little better in your apple shots. But, I also like the coziness of the toast - it looks charming and conjures up images of a cottage breakfast ;) I think these are pretty darn good. Food photography isn't easy and I am never very pleased with my attempts.
