I received a lot of compliments on this photo. In all honesty I am really proud of the way it turned out. I have been trying and trying to get a photo like this to no avail.
{settings ISO 400, f/11, 1/100sec}
You need a small aperture {like my f/11} it is actually even better if you can have f/22 or greater. You also need something to block part of the sun. In my case trees. It could be anything like a building, mountains, clouds, etc. You want the sun to be like a pin point. One thing about trying to capture a sunburst: you will need to be careful not to overexpose {I would do this a lot} as the pinpoint becomes a blob and the rays get washed out. You will want to kind of underexpose your shot. Just like you do with clouds and sunsets. You will want to test various exposures as you’re shooting by varying the shutter speed instead of changing the aperture. Hopefully this helps some. I am still new to all of this also.

By the way. I received an exciting email today asking if I wanted to be a contributor for She Hearts It. Of course I did. It is an awesome site where moms give honest opinions of products. I am so excited to be joining this great group of ladies. Thanks Andrea for asking me.
They are having a Lens Baby giveaway going on right now. Make sure you check it out.
Also? I made it to 500 followers. Woohooo! Thanks Nicolasa for the screen shot. 🙂
