I have been wanting to make some homemade granola bars for awhile, but had been putting it off. When I saw the new Planters Brittle Nut Medley in Walmart the other day I knew it was time. These were really easy to make and very customizable. You can add whatever type of Planters Nuts you like.

The Brittle Nut Medley has Honey Roasted Peanuts (my fav!), yogurt flavored raisins, peanut brittle, pretzels and cashews. Those all sound scrumptious and perfect to put into a homemade granola bar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Planters Brittle Nut Medley
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups oats
  • mini chocolate chips
  • chocolate covered peanut butter pieces

Instructions

  1. Mix together the Planters Brittle Nut Medley, oats, brown sugar, chocolate chips and chocolate covered peanut butter pieces together.
  2. Warm the honey and peanut butter in a small pot over low heat.
  3. Pour over peanut/oats mixture.
  4. Once mixed thoroughly put in a shallow pan covered in parchment paper.
  5. Cover with another layer of parchment paper and use your hands to spread the mixture out evenly.
  6. Set it in the freezer for 15 minutes to harden and cool.
  7. Remove from the pan and cut into the size bars you would like.
  8. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

For a cookie sheet you would want to at least double this recipe so you can have thick bars.
If you want your nuts to be smaller in your granola bars you can put them in a bag and smash them.

Have you heard about the new Blippar App? No? It is new to me too, but so much fun! It is a great way to interact with brands. Here is a selfie I took with Mr. Peanut. You can take selfies and share on your social media. I think the boys would love taking some selfies with Mr. Peanut. So cute! There were a few different Mr. Peanuts to choose from. They also have information about their Holiday products.

I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
