Friday Firework Fun

Filed Under: Photography Tagged With: fireworks

I finally was able to take great pictures of fireworks. I used the tips I posted here. Now the problem was picking favorites. That was hard. I took a TON of photos and had a really hard time narrowing it down. I used my bulb setting and really played around with the shutter speeds. I had a lot of fun taking the photos and can not wait to play with fireworks photos even more.

My absolute favorite photo. Nothing spectacular about it. I just get captured by it every time I see it. It feels so three dimensional and out of this world. I just can not stop looking at it. Which one is your favorite? I do have a few more that I will be sharing on Sunday.

I LOVE your fireworks photos! I'm so impressed because I have never been able to produce anything close to this when it comes to shooting fireworks. If you haven't already posted a tutorial on how you did it, I hope you will. I featured your photo at this week's Oh Snap!shots of the Week party. :)

These are all spectacular!!! Totally love that last one! :) After not looking up how to do bulb setting I was playing around with my camera today at the park in the 100 degree weather (seriously it was way too hot!) and found it. Of course two days later. lol. I'm looking forward to trying some fireworks again sometime later this summer.

Oh my Sarah, you knocked these out of the park! I do really like that first one, but I think I'm with you, that last one is really mesmerizing and almost feels like when I'm looking at it that it's moving! We were home for the first time since we have lived where we are so I'm not sure we picked the best fireworks around, they really weren't that great and quite a short show. I got a couple of good ones. But every Friday this summer they shoot fireworks off the Galveston bay on a barge so I'm going to have to practice some more. Wow, these are so awesome!

You got some great ones! I used my 11-16mm on mine and then cropped when I was editing. I switched lenses a couple of time but found that I was too close for anything other than my wide angle.
  34. Tamar Strauss-Benjamin says

    July 6, 2012 at 7:29 am

Wow. This settles it, I need a tripod so I can use my nikon for these next year! I use my point and shoot on the fireworks setting, but this year it poured rain during the fireworks so I had to put it in my bag! I just cna't get over the vivid colors!!

I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
