Dustyn Turns 4, or is it 1?

Filed Under: Family Tagged With: 4th birthday, birthday, dustyn, things dustyn says

Dustyn was born via scheduled c-section because he was going to be so big (he ended up being 10 pounds 4 ounces). When we went to schedule my c-section the doctor only had Leap day open or March 7th open. I was OVER being pregnant so I did not want to wait until March 7th. I really, really did not want a leap day baby. I remember when we found out our expected due date Kenny said we would have a leap day baby. He was right. Ha ha. I was a little upset about it at first but I really was glad he was out and healthy. Everything went well. Now I love that he was born on leap day. It just makes him extra special.

On non leap years  we celebrate his birthday February 28th. I have a lot of people ask when we celebrate it.  It never really crossed my mind to celebrate it in March. I figured he will always be a February baby. Many people always joke about that he is really only “1”. He will like that when he is older.

Dustyn is going to preschool at a local church three mornings a week. He really loves it.

He is wild, crazy and silly. I love him so much. I couldn’t imagine life without him or Carsyn.

I asked him a few questions:

How old are you?

4

What is your favorite food?

Chicken nuggets and french fries.

What is your favorite drink?

Sweet Tea.

Where do you like to eat?

Chickfila

What is your favorite color?

Green

What is your favorite monster truck?

I like every monster truck

What is your favorite tv show?

Umizoomi

What is your favorite thing to do?

Play angry birds

What is your favorite movie?

Cars 2

What do you like to do when you go outside?

Ride my arctic cat powerwheels.

Who are your friends?

Cameron, Evan and Camden

How old are mommy & daddy?

3, with a laugh.

Who do you love?

Mommy, daddy, and Carsyn.

He knows how to answer. he he. I love him.

We are having a frog party at his school for his “leap” day birthday. He is excited. I will be posting my frog cupcakes sometime along with ALL of his Birthday party stuff. I am still getting it all organized so bear with me.

What cute pictures - and what a special little boy! The interview is such a great idea. My middle son turns 10 in March, and I'm going to try to remember to do something similar; it's fun for us to hear the answers, but I think the kids will be interested to read what they said years from now, too. I like your party idea - looking forward to seeing the cupcakes!

Beautiful Photos and such a cute hat! My mom swears she was really born on leap day but the Dr.'s made her birth certificate say the 28th instead. My grandmother stands by her story that she was born at 3am on the 29th but they put 11:45pm the 28th. We always laugh and call her birth certificate a fraud. When your little guy gets older it is going to be such a neat thing to be a LEAP kid! Happy Birthday!

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
