Chocolate Chip Cookies and I have had a rocky past. I can never mix them right or cook them right, but this recipe was sooo easy and delicious! I originally got the recipe from Kelly over on In Everything. When I went to fix them I realized I didn’t have the shortening, so I substituted with butter. Here is the recipe…

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever!
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup Butter
- 2 Tbs milk
- 1 Tbs vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
-
PREHEAT your oven to 375F. Combine the brown sugar, butter, milk and vanilla in a bowl. Beat at medium speed with mixer until light and fluffy. Beat egg into creamed mixture.
-
COMBINE the flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix into creamed mixture until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
-
DROP rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. {I just got new cookie sheets, I think they made a world of difference also! No sticking and they baked evenly}
-
BAKE at 375F for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies, or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet on a cooling rack; remove cookies to rack to cool completely.
These are so delicious. You have to try them.
