Tips For Living A Greener Lifestyle
1. Check the power save mode on all your electronics.
Make sure they all go into power save mode after a few minutes on inactivity.
2. Print less and email more.
Do email marketing to your clients instead of paper. I send out a lot of emails and facebook posts to my previous clients instead of mailing a postcard.
3. Donate unused items instead of trashing them.
I donate a lot of the clothes and toys the boys no longer use to our local thrift store. I feel that this is helpful to others and better for the environment.
4. Save packing material for shipping or moving.
I have a huge box of packing material that I use when it comes time for me to ship something. I also plan to use this when our house sells and we need to move. I will also grab boxes from local businesses for packing.
5. Use Recycled Batteries.
I use an external flash to take a lot of indoor photos of food, products, etc. My flash goes through batteries like crazy. I feel better about using the new Energizer Eco Advanced Batteries, because they are partly made from recycled batteries. This is the very first battery on the market to use recycled batteries/materials. These batteries also come in AAA. This is Energizer’s longest lasting alkaline ever and it will hold up to 12 years in storage! Amazing!
Here is what I carry inside my camera bag. I took the photos using my main camera, but I also carry my back up camera. External Flash, batteries for the flash, extra battery for my camera, extra SD cards, lenses.
I picked up these new Energizer Eco Advanced Batteries while at Walmart the other day. They were right on the corner of their battery center at the front. I am so thankful they have this because I always need batteries.
