Thursday Challenges

Filed Under: Photography

Something New: On the sidebar under the sponsors I added a photo and description of each of my boys. If you click on the name or photo it will take you to all my post about each one of them. Just thought I would mention that.

So after doing Edit Me yesterday. I really wanted to do one of my own photos with a texture. I was also finishing up this family session and thought this would be the perfect photo. What do you think? {Hover over to see the before}

I used Kim Klassen’s Yesteryear Texture on this photo.

Kim Klassen Café texture thursday

This was taken in April but it is my favorite architecture photo.

Another Day Another Diaper

I loved this. She was so adorable with her sunglasses and purse.

Tomorrow is my 26th birthday! Crazy. Doesn’t even feel like my birthday. I did get to order this point and shoot for my birthday and for our trip to Philadelphia to see Monster Jam next weekend. I can’t wait. I just hope it does better then the last point and shoot I ordered. I just need a good carry around camera because it is hard to keep up with a DSLR and the boys. Just too much for me.

    love the pictures! I found your blog while visiting another and it lead me here...so glad. I was reading about your son diagnosis; my oldest daughter born extremely premature and was watched closely for cerebral palsy while she does not have CP she still has issues that calls for both physical therapy and occupational therapy. I am amazed at how much improvement has happened for her over the last few years and 2 months ago she reached all of her physical therapy milestones and was released from PT...we just did not think it would happen (she has never ever allowed 'limitations' to limit her!), she is amazing. She still goes to OT once a week and actually like it ~looks forward to it every week... ...a true fighter indeed!

    That's an awesome edit! The other pics are great too! Hope your new P&S works out well. I'm with you. I don't bring along my DSLR unless I know I'm for sure taking a bunch of photos. Otherwise, it's just so big to lug around.

    Happy early Birthday! And that texture turned out really well. Do you mind me asking how you did it??
    • NapTime MomTog says

      May 26, 2011 at 3:17 pm

      Thank you. First I ran Pioneer Woman's Old West action. Then dragged the texture onto the photo and did soft light blending mode at 60% then used a layer mask at 50% to delete it off of the little boy and his clothes. I then duplicated that layer and did multiply blending mode at 40%. If you need more information just let me know. I did all of this in Photoshop CS5.

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

Freaking freezing soccer nights. 🥶🥶🥶 It Freaking freezing soccer nights. 🥶🥶🥶

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). His games are harder to take video of cause his field is so big.
