Teaching Children To Give Back

Carsyn has had to have surgery before at our local children’s hospital. There is a Ronald McDonald House close, thankfully we haven’t needed it, but I am glad it is there for families that do. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is so important to keep families together. Teaching children to give back is super important.

Teaching Children To Give Back

Teaching Children To Give Back

  1. Start your own fundraiser page.
  2. Host a toy drive. Sell the toys and then donate the proceeds.
  3. Enjoy crafting? Sell crafts and donate.
  4. Can you juggle? You can #JuggleForRaiseLove.
  5. Host a bake sale and donate the proceeds.

Teaching Children To Give Back

You can choose to do what you love to help raise money for RMHC. We decided to collect toys the boys no longer play with and sell them. That way I can make room for the new baby, plus we can donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Teaching Children To Give Back

Did you know?

In 2016 alone, RMHC provided 2.4 million overnight stays to families. By doing that they gave families the ability to spend more time with their sick children, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their children’s care.

RMHC provides places for families with sick children to stay just steps from the hospitals where they are receiving medical care.

You can start your own fundraiser page to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

It's important to start young! When we do our house clearing - we gather up all the shampoos, conditioners, soaps, unused cosmetics and polishes, clothing that doesn't fit (that's still in good condition) and my son and I take it down to the women & children shelter out here. He gets to see their joy first hand.

Our hospital has a Ronald McDonald room. Inpatient families can go down there at night for a free hot meal. I haven't used it often, but I'm sure it's a godsend for many.

When my youngest was born 8 weeks early out of state, if I did not have family in the area, would have totally needed something like the Ronald McDonald house, such a great service they give

We saw a third eye doctor. We are going to try glasses for two months and also try to prevent her from closing or covering her left eye. Along with having her focus on something brought to her nose throughout the day. Then recheck. She did mention alternate patching. Even though they see it in both eyes it is more prominent in her left eye. If neither one is helping then we will do surgery.

20|365 Annelyn did amazing at the allergist today. 20|365 Annelyn did amazing at the allergist today. I felt so bad when they were poking her back. I shared a photo in my stories of her back. They tested for dairy, eggs, green beans and pork. She previously had a reaction to green beans and bacon so they wanted to check that. The dairy and egg still had a reaction, but the doctor feels it is small enough that we can start trying eggs and dairy in small portions. Her egg reaction is a little less than dairy so we are going to try that first.

I let her pick out a toy and she picked this baby yoda.

14|365 Sweet girl. Little update we are going for 14|365 Sweet girl. Little update we are going for a 3rd opinion next week at an office that offers vision therapy. I am going to see if they think therapy and/or glasses would help. I’m hoping that it will be an option since she is able to control it when we get her to focus. We will see.

Thanks for all the advice and sharing your experiences. I know every child and diagnosis is different but it is nice to hear what others have done.
