Carsyn Updates

Carsyn’s wheelchair parts are still not in, but hopefully this week. Then they have to put it together. Which I pray happens next week. I am sooooo ready to get his chair.

He got fitted for a new Gait Trainer on Monday. He tried out the Rifton Pacer and the Kid Walk. I really, really, really wanted him to try out the Kid Walk because I have heard great things about it. Plus it has big wheels like his wheelchair will have, so if he gets used to steering his wheelchair he could also steer his Kid Walk like that if he needed to. I also love the fact that he can walk right up to toy kitchens and tables just like any other kid.

Once his wheelchair is in they will also be fitting him for a new Stander. He has gone through several growth spurts recently which is awesome, but not awesome for his poor hamstrings. He is way overdue for Botox injections in his hamstrings and hips. The new doctor we met is trying her hardest to get it set up, but she has had to jump through a lot of hoops. I do like that he has to get all new equipment at the same time because that means we will meet our deductible early this year. The wheelchair took care of most of that…. I don’t like spending the money, but I would rather meet our deductible at the beginning of the year then at the end.

For some reason Carsyn has been really fussy when dropping him off at school. Then also during school. That isn’t really like him so I am not sure what is going on. I am thinking maybe another growth spurt and it is painful on his muscles?

Dustyn Updates

Dustyn will be going for his sensory processing/aspergers evaluation in April. I am ready for that to be over with, but also nervous about the results. I want to know if there is really something going on with him.

I did call the doctor today to see if he could see him and make a referral for a sleep study. I have been noticing lately that Dustyn is snoring a lot and very loudly at night. He is also taking pauses between breaths. I immediately went to worst case scenario, sleep apnea. Which I have read can cause behavioral problems and hyper activity. Honestly if he does have sleep apnea, that could be the reason for some of his other problems.

Can not even believe he will be 6 years old on Friday! Eeekkk! I am still working on his birthday post. I hope to get that up tomorrow!

DSC_6623Blog Updates

I updated my header and buttons simply because I am ready for Spring. I wanted something cheery and beautiful. What do you think of the new look?

Is there anything in particular you would like to see me blog about? I love to hear feedback from my awesome readers.

Your new header is nice. Spring flowers are a cheery edition. Good news about Carsyn and his chair and walker. I do hope both boys will do okay with their tests and such. They both seem like sweet children.

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

Freaking freezing soccer nights. 🥶🥶🥶 It Freaking freezing soccer nights. 🥶🥶🥶

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). His games are harder to take video of cause his field is so big.

Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.

So it was growing soooooo slow. I finally repotted it a couple weeks ago, moved it closer to a window, and started using plant food from @happyhappyhouseplant. Not sure what made the most difference but the leaf opened and now a new one is already starting. Hoping it won’t take as long this time.
