PlayPak by Firefly Friends

Disclosure: I was sent the PlayPak in exchange for my honest review. No other compensation was given. All opinions are my own.

Remember the GoTo Seat and Upsee Harness that we raised money for earlier this year? We use the GoTo Seat quite often, unfortunately we haven’t been able to get too much use out of his Upsee Harness yet because Carsyn’s hamstrings are SO tight. He will be getting Phenol injections in early February that will help. Firefly Friends is the creator behind both of those great products and they just recently launched some other amazing products! The PlayPak, Scooot, and Budz. I will be sharing my thoughts on each of these products, but today I will focus the PlayPak.

Different Uses For The PlayPak

I took the PlayPak to school with Carsyn and let his Physical Therapist try it out. She really liked the position it put Carsyn in for sitting. She also liked that she could use the different pieces beside Carsyn while stretching him. Since the Velcro holds so well it really keeps him in place. He likes to roll around while you are trying to stretch him, so the belt came in handy too.

Sitting

Carsyn really enjoys sitting on the floor during circle time at school. I think he really feels like part of the group this way. I love that you can have two “C” supports around his back to really support him, or if you want him to do more work you can just use one.

Tummy Time

Carsyn has never liked tummy time. Whenever I would put him on his tummy he would always roll over. The positioning pieces and the belt help keep him positioned, and he is able to stay on his tummy I wish I had this three years ago when we were fighting to get him to stay on his tummy!

Stretching

Like I said above, the extra positioning pieces really help hold Carsyn in place while stretching. His therapist asked me to bring this each week when she sees him for therapy.

I love that it is light and folds up into its own bag. Thank you Firefly Friends for making products that help families with kids that have special needs.  If you have a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, etc with special needs check out their new forum Firefly Garden. It is just getting started but already has some good information

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). His games are harder to take video of cause his field is so big.

Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
