New Equipement is Here!

Filed Under: Family, Special Needs Tagged With: carsyn, cerebral palsy, Holoprosencephaly

The day finally came to pick up Carsyn’s new equipment. I was so excited for this day. It was a long, hard road but it was here. We have been using a loaner stander so I wasn’t AS excited about that. It was the stroller I was most excited about. Don’t get me wrong, I love carrying him in the Boba. It just gets difficult for long trips, plus he is getting curious about what is going on around him. He loves riding and enjoys shopping carts but he just can not sit up well enough. Anyways with out further ado I want to introduce you to the “Stingray”.

This thing is awesome. The frame is made out of carbon fiber so it is suppose to be lighter but strong. I love the color it really matches his car seat. The great thing about this is this seat can be taken off and used on a high-lo base. What I will do is probably leave the base in the house and bring the seat in most of the time so he can eat in it. Then when I know I will be using the stroller I will bring the seat out to the car. It has great support for Carsyn and will prevent any spinal problems down the road.

He looks amazing in it and the greatest part? He LOVES it. He was in it from the time we picked it up, till I had to take him out for his xray {checking bone growth} and then he went back in till I took him out to get blood work {checking thyroid}. Then he was back in it till we got in the car. He did not fuss one bit. YAY! He even sat in it while we were at Wendys getting lunch. I can not tell you how happy I was to not have to hold him while eating out. I love the canopy on it. It is huge and will protect him from the rain. You can push it all the way down and he has that clear window to look through. I think what I most like about the stingray is that it looks most like a regular stroller. Besides the straps it really looks like a luxury stroller.

His stander is the same one that he has been using, but we got it in blue because Dustyn wanted something in blue. I kind of wish we would have gotten the green so it all matched, but oh well.

As far as the tests go that Carsyn got today. As soon as we get the results back we will see an endocrinologist and see what they think about him not gaining any weight. Then go from there. Thanks again for all your support and prayers they mean the world to me. Please continue to pray for him and pray for our appointment with them. I hope it is something minor if anything at all.

It’s been a little crazy around here so I hope you will forgive me for being absent in my blog visits. We are almost ready to put our house on the market. I would love to have prayers for that also. Thanks my lovely readers. Don’t know what I would do without all your love and support.

Wow-I haven't been keeping up with the blogs lately and Carsyn has gotten so big!!! He looks great in that stroller..did you get it through your PT or did you buy it at a store? Seraphina just had her 18 month check up and she is not gaining weight either. She's not even 20 pounds yet!! She is a very picky eater so we have started giving her Pediasure and hoping that helps--but atleast the dr. did say that her height and weight are proportionate, how about Carsyn? I'll be thinking of you guys this weekend..are you planning on riding out the hurricane?? My brother and his fam (who live in Camden) are evacuating tomorrow, I think. Hope you guys are safe and well!

We got it from an equipment company through the children's hospital here. Carsyn only weighs 18lbs 8oz. He isn't a picky eater, but he just isn't gaining weight. He will eat and eat. He drinks 2 pediasures a day and still nothing. So hopefully we can figure something out. The doctor did say he was proportionate. Thanks. I think we are going to ride it out at my parents house. They will get hit too but hopefully not as bad. Thanks

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). His games are harder to take video of cause his field is so big.

Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
