Lemon Sugar Scrub with essential oils. Perfect for dry winter skin

Winter has arrived and has brought very cold temperatures and harsh winds. That means dry and chapped skin has arrived.

I love making this lemon sugar scrub for myself to help with my dehydrated skin. I also enjoy giving it away for gifts. It is super easy and cheap to make.

Everyone loves a good sugar scrub and you can always change up what essential oils you add to the scrub.

I love pairing my scrub with the new Jergens Wet Skin moisturizer. I exfoliate with the scrub and then moisturize. It instantly locks in moisture and absorbs 2x faster.

Lemon Sugar Scrub

Being a mom to three boys means I am always short on time and rushing to get ready. My skin is always so dry in the winter but I don’t always take the time to make sure I moisturize.

Applying the moisturizer to my wet skin before drying off makes sure that my skin gets the moisture it needs. I keep it right by the shower so I remember to use it before drying off.

The coconut oil moisturizer is my favorite. The smell is amazing and pairs well with my sugar scrub.

I have a great Meyer lemon tree and I'm always looking for ways to use my lemons. Does using fresh lemon juice instead of essential oils change the expiration of the scrub? ei: will it spoil at some point?

Not sure exactly because I always use essential oils, but from looking online I found the scrub should last 2-3 weeks and then be replaced. Also you may need more sugar since the juice from a lemon may be more then the drops of essential oils.

Just warning you.. Don't use peppermint in any body scrub during the winter. I made this mistake. I froze for at least an hour after I used it. It seriously cools your skin.

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). His games are harder to take video of cause his field is so big.

Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
