Kids Were Here

Filed Under: Family, Photography Tagged With: kids were here

My friend Courtney did a post like this a few days ago and linked to the blog Kids Were Here. I thought it was a neat idea, so I decided to go around the house and photograph toys and food left from my boys. I can not wait to take this to the next level and start photographing out and about little bits of my boys left behind.  If you want to join in you can head over to their blog and grab the button.

Trucks scattered around…

Food and scratches all over the floor…

Kids Were Here

Toy Story characters strewn every where…

Kids Were Here

Four-wheelers left on the bathroom sink…

AND it is all beautiful. My boys are growing too fast and soon there won’t be any signs left saying my kids were here. I want to capture little memories to cherish forever.

I challenge you to get out there and photograph the messes made by your kids. You won’t regret it.

I just saw your comment on my Kids Were Here post from so long ago - something wonky is going on with my blog comments. Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say thanks and also see your post. LOVE it so much. There are so many similarities to what I see in my house on the daily. :)

Someday, the kids will look back and laugh at what they used to play with and it is always great to have something to hold over their head when they are older. :)

That's really a great idea. Your shots of the Toy Story toys made me catch my breath. My youngest is 11, but his brother is almost 22. It was 16 years ago when we acquired our Woody and Buzz among others for Jacob. It was surreal to take both our guys to see Toy Story 3. Mama and Daddy didn't fare so well in that one. ;) Memories...

6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adans 6 weeks ago I cut off the top of my Monstera Adansonii because it was very tall but not bushy. It was nerve wracking at first. I had 5 total cuttings that I put into water. 4 of the pieces had roots longer than 2 inches with some secondary roots. The last piece is still in water, it has some roots but not enough, so giving it a bit more time. Where I cut it is also making a new stem and I noticed further down it was trying to branch out in other places. Hopefully it takes off this Summer and becomes fuller looking.

It was soooo cold out there tonight even with the sun. The wind was whipping. It may have been in the 40s but the wind chill was in the low 30s. I think my face is wind burned. Annie did a great job playing tonight and was trying so hard to make a goal. The other team was short on players, so one of her teammates was goalie and did an awesome job stopping the ball. Annie tried a new strategy of holding the ball in between her feet until the other team gives up. 🤣 There is one clip of Prestyn (# 13). His games are harder to take video of cause his field is so big.

Today while eating lunch I told her it was close to coming out and we would need to pull it before bed. While eating chicken teriyaki she thought she swallowed it and spit out the chicken in her mouth. I dug through it and it wasn’t there. She started freaking out. Then looked on the chair and it was sitting right there. 🤣 A similar thing happened with Prestyn on one of his bottom teeth. My kids never want to pull them out until they fall out on their own. Ha.
