Friday Favorites {Week #2}

Filed Under: Photography

I hope you all had a lovely week. It was another busy one around here. I started reading the Out of Sync Child, it is about Sensory Processing Dysfunction. Which I am pretty sure where most of Dustyn little quirks come from. Carsyn’s OT tends to agree with me. Now I am at the point do I wait for school which starts in less then a month to evaluate him or try and get a referral and get on the wait list for an appointment with a private provider. The book does share some awesome advice and I tried some of them out today. So I am hoping that me doing some of the in home therapy and him starting school soon that they can just do the evaluation and therapy in school. We will see how it all plays out. Would love your thoughts and prayers. I am still trying to process that I have two kids that need therapy and special attention. Also if you have dealt with SPD would love to hear how you handled everything.

Now onto my favorite post this week. I hope you will stop by them all. They are ones you won’t want to miss!

    What a divine shot, Sarah!! I do hope you learn something from this book that will enable you to help your gorgeous boys! Children can be challenging at the best of times, but when there are other issues thrown into the mix, it can be quite overwhelming at times. Thinking of you and praying for you and your family. :)

    I don't want to be negative, and I don't know anything about the schools where you are. That being said. I worked in special education in public schools for 17 years. The case loads are huge, and the run around is ridiculous! Get on board with any private help you can get, start school armed with knowledge, and always remember YOU are the advocate for your child. Nobody else cares like you do, and the squeaky wheel ALWAYS gets the grease!!

    Good Luck with Carsyn, Sarah. I frequently have to remind myself that "Hard things are put in our way, not to stop us, but to call out our courage and strength." Anonymous Lovely flower shot.

    Gorgeous pic, Sarah! I've worked with lots of kids with SPD - what you let him do yesterday sounds like great home therapy! If your school district provides good services it may be beneficial to wait to have him tested through them, since they will provide/pay for the services. Good luck!

July was an amazing month for the most part. Kenny July was an amazing month for the most part. Kenny and I celebrated being married 18 years in the mountains, and the kids had a lot of Summer fun. Unfortunately we did lose Kenny’s step dad, the kids Grampy, Billy. I’m so glad I decided to do project 365 again this year. I really do love looking back on all the photos, even if most are taken with my phone. Just want to take more photos of the kids with family members.
