Capture Silly Faces

  • shares

I received a new solid colored backdrop and asked my favorite model to pose in front of it. Figured it was time to capture silly faces. I love doing this with Dustyn. I did it awhile back and captured some good ones. He has grown sooo much but he still makes some of the same faces.  I also have to say I think my photography has grown also.

Capture Silly Faces

Dustyn had been outside playing and was VERY muddy. I thought about capturing that but didn’t want to get my brand new backdrop dirty. He hopped in the shower real quick while I got everything set up. He came out in pajama pants and no shirt. I said are you really going to wear that for the photos. He said, “Yup!” I thought about making him change, but decided to just roll with it.

Capture Silly Faces

These top two he was clicking his tongue to the beat of the clicks on my camera. It was pretty funny.

Capture Silly Faces

I love this one in black and white. Really brings out his freckles and his eye lashes look amazing!  This one also doesn’t make him look quite so old.

Capture Silly Faces

I really think it is important to capture silly faces. To me the best photos aren’t just when they are looking at the camera and smiling. You want to make sure you capture their personality because you will want to be able to look back on that in thirty years. Plus you can show it off to their girlfriend/boyfriend when they start dating.

Don’t Miss A Thing!

Awesome! Some of my favorite pictures are crying/silly face pictures. We have so many smiles that a pouty face is just special.

I like the black and white photo. And thank you for the tip (To me the best photos aren’t just when they are looking at the camera and smiling. I'll certainly do this ;o) Happy Wordless Wednesday from the Philippines! ;o)

He looks so grown, and the back and white is gorgeous. This is some of the best advice I've heard in a long time, I've never thought about catching their silly faces. I must get on this.
