This Valentine Puppy Chow recipe and post is sponsored by Netflix. All thoughts, ideas, and opinions expressed are my own.

Have you made puppy chow before? I have eaten this many times but hadn’t made it. Not only is this super easy and adorable, but it is delicious!

I packed it up in little bags, that we could each snack on some valentine puppy chow during our family movie night. This week we watched The Adventures of Puss in Boots, a brand new Netflix Original Series!
I love that Netflix is coming out with all these new shows and movies for the kids. Carsyn really enjoys watching Clifford’s Puppy Days.
Of course, I have been watching all the Friends episodes. I really miss that show!

Valentine Puppy Chow Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 cups rice cereal mix, divided
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate, melted
- 1/2 cup white chocolate, melted
- 1 cup pink velvet cake mix
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- pink and red m&m's
Instructions
- Place 3 cups of cereal in each bowl.
- Add your pink velvet cake mix to one ziploc bag, then put the powdered sugar in a separate bag.
- Pour melted milk chocolate over the cereal in one bowl and mix well.
- Put this cereal in the pink velvet cake mix bag.
- Shake well.
- Pour the white chocolate over the other cereal and mix well.
- Put this cereal in the powdered sugar bag.
- Shake well.
- Pour them both out onto a cookie sheet to let dry and harden.
- Place in a big bowl and add the m&m's.
- Mix together well and serve.
Update 1/20/17 I changed it from red velvet cake mix to pink velvet cake mix. It makes for a prettier red/pink color. If you can’t find pink velvet, mix the red velvet and powdered sugar together and put in two separate bage. Next put the white chocolate cereal in one bag and milk chocolate cereal in the other bag. Then just continue with the rest of the instructions.
What’s your favorite movie or tv show on Netflix right now?

February 10, 2015 at 5:33 pmhello – this is so cute and tastes great! But my red velvet cake mix is definitely not this nice pink color. What kind did you use? Mine looks brown.

February 10, 2015 at 6:19 pmI used Duncan Hines I think. The pink is from the red coming off on the white powder. Did you do the powdered sugar and the red velvet separate and then put them in a bowl together?

February 10, 2015 at 6:50 pmYep I followed the directions. My red velvet mix is just not really a nice red color.

February 10, 2015 at 6:53 pmOh sorry. Which mix did you use? Was it red before adding it to the cereal. Mine was bright red.

January 22, 2015 at 8:53 pmWhile these snacks look delicious, I question calling them “Puppy Chow.” Sadly, there are plenty of people out there who will think these are OK for dogs!! They are NOT!!! Chocolate can kill a dog. This label is very irresponsible, and could lead to possible lawsuits.
