Silhouettes Of My Boys

I finally got around to taking my silhouette photos. Now this is my first time taking portrait silhouettes. It was a little different for me. I was also a little flustered.

If you follow me on instagram you know why. Kenny and I had gone shopping while my parents watched the boys. On our way home we were driving down the road in a 45mph zone when a guy on a bicycle came out to cross the road and ran right into the passenger side of my van and it turned him around and he went all the way down the side of my van leaving two pretty big scratches. Kenny slammed on brakes when he saw him coming and as he hit. Then when the biker got to the end of the van he contined pedaling across three more lanes of traffic and collapsed on the other side. Kenny and two medics that saw it happen ran over to him while I called 911. An ambulance came and took him to the hospital, they said he should be okay. It could have been A LOT worse. For one he didn’t get right in front of us, two the people behind us didn’t hit him or us, three he didn’t get hit by any of the other cars while crossing the other lanes. Needless to say I screamed from the passenger seat and was pretty shaken up. I hate accidents.

After that we went, got the boys, and heading to Kenny’s dads. That is where I took these photos. It wasn’t ideal but I didn’t feel like finding the perfect spot. I do love how the balloons turned out and I think they turned out pretty good.

This is part of our Tutorial Tuesday series.

Those are wonderful! The only silhouette I've done was of my brother and his wife at their wedding. They got married just before sunset on a golf course in AZ. Where I live it here are to many hills and trees to get a good sunset silhouette. I need to take a trip to the beach.

Still on my to-do list: a gallery wall and living wall, but I'm a bit nervous since I'm not exactly good at that. One day, though... I also dream of getting a projector to display scenes on the big white wall.

I'm going to miss my Halloween decorations when they come down - time to start scouring thrift stores for Christmas decor, I suppose! 🎄

What I have left to do still: Get the top for my desk and seal it. Organize my craft stuff and put it on the shelves under my desk. Figure out my gallery wall above my desk. Order my @wallygrowplanters for my living wall. And of course buy more books and plants. 😆
