Annelyn is 5 months old today! I can’t believe she has been here for almost a half of a year. Time seems to be flying by more quickly then ever. She can sit up for about a minute at a time, or until she gets distracted. Her favorite activity is to play with her feet. She is waking up every 2-3 hours at night, and sometimes even more often then that. I am so exhausted. The good thing is she takes two really good naps ranging 1-2 hours, then one or two shorter naps for 30-40 minutes.
Her weight gain has really slowed down so I have been feeding her every single time she wakes up, which I think is making her wake up even more. I am going to see a lactation consultant on Friday because I am not sure if she is transferring enough milk. Her latch is really shallow and she gets impatient during the day waiting for my let down. At night she doesn’t mind waiting and nurses really good at night. Today we took away her pacifier today. Hopefully we can get this figured out. I have been pumping during the day in between nursing sessions to try to boost my supply. I have also been drinking a ton of water, olvatine, and gatorade. I also started taking legendairy milk supplements.
