Aftermath of Irene

Filed Under: Photography Tagged With: hurricane

First of all I want to say I am sooo thankful that we are all safe and that our house is still standing. We have a ton of trees on our property and had a ton of branches come down. This one was sticking straight up. Definitely could have been dangerous.

This path used to be walkable and clear.

The top of a tree came through our chicken coop.

The tree. It was pretty good size.

Close up of the damage. The wood was pretty rotten so I doubt we will rebuild it.

We had just pressure washed the house now we have to do it again. Oh well.

Seeing the news and all the horrible flooding. I am so very thankful that we had as little damage as we did. I will be praying for everyone that has been affected by Irene.

Glad you are safe and sound. It can be scary when you're not sure where the storm will be, when it will get there, or how strong it will be. Hopefully the flooding doesn't cause too much more damage. Sorry to hear about the chicken coup. Good luck with the repairs, though!

me too - glad you were ok... when I see the tree damage I think of how so often in a hurricane/tornado trees and other objects become like missles and if you are standing in their path it is SO incredibly dangerous. Glad you and your family are all ok and praying with you for those who are still struggling w/the damage caused by Irene

So glad to hear the damage wasn't much worse! There are still many places in our surrounding area with absolutely no power and that are completely flooded. We were one of the lucky ones!
